68 years after his high school graduation, George Whalen finally received his diploma.
George Whalen missed his graduation in 1945 because he was drafted into the Navy during WWII. After the war, he returned to New York, got married, and raised 10 children.
Whalen never got to walk the stage or receive his diploma, until now. Thanks to his family and school administrators, he donned a cap and gown and finally walked the stage. He graduated with the class of 2013, which also included his granddaughter and great-niece.
